120 Performers To Take Over Streets During Belfast Festival Of Fools

The Belfast Festival of Fools is just a week away, and those planning to attend the exciting, family celebration can expect to see more than 120 acts performing around the city for the May bank holiday weekend.

It will kick off on Friday April 29th at 19:00 when circus acts Les Dudes will launch the event, before coming to an end on Monday May 2nd.

The Canadian duo will showcase their Let’s Do This! act, which will have been performed at 300 shows in 25 countries by the time it comes to Belfast. Les Dudes will also keep crowds entertained on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, making it a very busy weekend for the acrobatic double act.

Festival staff will have a big job on their hands as the festival will take over the whole of Belfast city centre and Cathedral Quarter for its 13th year.

Festival of Fools will see artists from all over the world descend upon Northern Ireland’s capital, with acclaimed performers from the USA, Canada, Holland, Italy, France, Poland, Spain, France, Germany, Finland and England set to make an appearance.

Among the performances you can expect to see are acrobatic displays, unicycling, magic shows, juggling, live music, puppetry and dance.

The event is free to attend and those interested in going do not have to book a ticket, so can just turn up on the day.

Of course, the weather may have a big impact on how many people show up. But if the skies do open, planners have arranged some events to take place under cover at Ulster University, Belfast Circus, Victoria Square and 101 Donegall Street.

Therefore, families will be able to enjoy themselves at this fun-filled and funny event, whatever the weather!
